Is It Really That Good?

on

“Ohh, Nate that looks good,” my cousin Christina might say to me on an average day of watching television, but the question is, really? All those food adds you see when waiting  for your program to continue typically show items that look extremely appetizing (many fast food restaurants). The thing is, when you actually go and try those foods, they don’t quite meet your expectations all the time. A lot of commercials include smiling customers, great photography, and special effects to make their products look much better. For example, a KFC commercial will show sparkling and shiny mashed potatoes while a random dude eats the stuff pretending like it’s the best food he’s ever tasted. Another tactic advertisers will try is put up a # for $# deal. They make the deal sound so worth it that the only thing going through your head is “I HAVE TO TRY THAT!” Other things that I’ve noticed is that companies will do is add music and dancing to enhance the topic. But it’s just food, and those effects just make everything look so silly.

So… next time you think about going to eat at a restaurant because you saw a commercial about it, remember this, is it really that good?

For sure! I love KFC, but other restaurants like Taco bell just have the worst stuff.

  3. I am a sucker for specials and promotions… the McD’s two cheeseburger value meal was my thing back in the day so I am automatically intrigued by that extra long cheeseburger (genius).

As a PSA I do want to note the use of WAS in the sentence above. I have not been to McD’s in years…
