Mom Strikes Again

Hmm, you might be thinking. What is the special dish my mom has created? The famous mini ice cream sandwiches! Perfect for the holidays, we recently made and devoured these desserts at a Christmas party. This amazing dessert is easy to make, delicious to eat, bite sized, and a very cool sight when put together. Now if you look at a big ice cream sandwiches, these are the pros:

  1. You get a lot of ice cream

Only one. Here are the cons:

  1. Usually, you only get a 6 in a pack
  2. Not bite sized
  3. Can get a teeth burn really easily

Let’s do the same thing, but with my mom’s mini ice cream sandwiches:

Pros:

  1. Bite size
  2. Easy to make
  3. Can eat a variety of ice cream flavors
  4. Won’t get a teeth burn
  5. Fun to make

Cons:

  1. Nothing

Look at the difference, it really unbelievable! If you’re wondering how easy it is to make these desserts, I can give you the recipe. First, what might be a good cookie for this type of sandwich? I know what you’re thinking, it’s an Oreo! Back to the first step, strip all the white stuff from the Oreos and then eat it (just joking, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha lol lol lol lol lol). Afterwards, add a lot of ice cream and put it on the serving tray. It’s that simple! Mini ice cream sandwiches are a way to experience all the great ice cream flavors including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and mint. When you eat a big ice cream sandwich, your mom usually tells you to stop eating it half way. When eating my mom’s mini ice cream sandwiches, you can eat at least three with out getting told to stop! Wondering what a good mini dessert your party should have? Make my mom’s mini ice cream sandwiches!

I want to thank everyone for commenting and spending their time to read my blog posts. It makes me really happy when I see all of the comments!  Thank you and have the the best holiday ever!

This was heartbreaking to read Nate, not only did you write about one of my favorite foods but to not be invited to this party and rubbing it it – wow, that’s not exactly the Christmas spirit. While you were enjoying these yummy ice cream sandwiches, I was at home gnawing on an old sock. One of Cooper’s old soccer socks, so you can imagine how that thing tasted. And smelled. But I agree, most foods turned bite sized are way better than the full size version! BTW, what DID happen to the cream from the Oreos… ❤ Ollie

Well, I got invited to the party and the mini sandwiches were delicious! What a great idea! Can’t wait to make them for our next party here. We’ll be sure to give one to Ollie then.

What will happen if Ollie doesn’t get one? Does she get mad?

Another great blog entry, Nate! Way to go! I LOVE the idea of bite-sized ice cream sandwiches! Have you thought about using homemade cookies instead of Oreos? Imagine chocolate chip cookies or oatmeal raisin. Yum! Also, do you have a particular brand of ice cream to recommend?

One of my favorite ice creams is lemon cookie from the three twins brand. Tastes like vanilla but has chunks of lemon cookie dough inside. Yummy!
