Looks can be deceiving

When I first looked at my mom’s pork couscous dish, I thought it would be more of a “superfood” meal. Instead, I tasted a delicious combination of tomatoes, cheese, and pork all on top of some Israeli couscous. To you, couscous might seem like a grainy substitution for rice, but the Israeli style one tasted strangely like pasta.

Now there are plenty of toppings to throw in with a pasta, but my mom hit the spot! Some crunchy cucumbers, a little cheese, and flavorful sun dried tomatoes combined together to make an unforgettable taste. When I tried the tender pork, my mind was thinking “This just keeps on getting better and better!”

Anyways, even though not all couscous’s taste like pasta, now that I’ve tried it, I want to start eating it more often. It’s a great alternative for other carbs! I think you know what I’m going to say. If there’s one thing I learned from last nights dinner, it’s that looks can be deceiving.

  1. Deceiving?! This photo looks amazing! Did you steal this photo from MarthaStewart.com… I love couscous too, just a warning like everything else eating TOO much can lead to a pretty serious stomach condition. Google it. But don’t worry I think you’d have eat it 3x a day for a month for this to happen.

I love couscous. It’s so good, it doesn’t need repeating. So I’m going to start calling it just cous. Like how YoYo Ma, should just be Yo-Ma or Marky Mark should just be Mark
