Sweet Kombucha

I’m sure all of you have heard of the trending drink, Kombucha, before, but the question is, have you actually tried it?

I was walking around at Robert’s Market (Portola Valley’s “Safeway”) last week and the first aisle I visited was the drinks section. As my eyes skimmed over Arizona Tea, Gatorade, Izee’s, and all the rest, I had one of those “I don’t know what to get” feelings. I was seeking something new. So when I rounded the corner and spotted Kombucha sitting there like undiscovered treasure, I knew that it was exactly what I wanted.

To begin, I like the flavor of tea. Whether it’s with boba or in hot water, I’ve always felt attracted to this drink. That’s why Kombucha is perfect for me. It’s a healthy, probiotic tea that tastes amazing (there’s a sweet flavoring). At Robert’s, I tried the Pomegranate Health-Ade brand, and it blew my mind. It didn’t have the extreme bitterness of black tea or coffee, but then it wasn’t complete fruit juice either. In just one tiny sip, you’ll experience so many different flavors. The juice combined with the tea twist and turn around your tongue, making an irresistible sensation. Health Ade Kombucha is often enhanced with soda bubbles which make the drink even better! The aftertaste even resembles the smell of salami, which is pretty wack.

Give it a try! Kombucha is quite a beverage, as you’ve heard, and though you may not prefer it still, do it for the health benefits. I recommend that you try the pomegranate flavor, or you could go healthier by drinking the equally tasty lemon-ginger relish. And after you savor the last drop of this must-try drink, you’ll be thinking, “Sweet Kombucha.”
