Camping Food

Camping food is a lot different then regular food.  I went camping a few days ago with my family and believe it or not, the food was one of the highlights of my whole trip!  Our trip started at the visitor’s center, where my uncle got a camping permit and we had lunch. My Uncle Randy and Aunty Lena made sandwiches with bacon, eggs, and cheese inside. The bread on the outside was very dry so I did not eat it, but who does not like bacon! I ate the bacon so fast along with the eggs and cheese. I also made sure to dab off the excess oil from the bacon, so my stomach wouldn’t hurt. This simple sandwich was probably one of the best I have ever eaten.

After a tiring day, we had one of my favorite meals:  mac and cheese. Uncle Randy and Aunty Lena made the mac and cheese inside a very small pot. I could not believe it!  They also used cheese powder and hot water to make the cheese sauce. The mac and cheese was topped with edamame beans, sausages from Hawaii, and delicious bacon! It was a big surprise when my uncle brought the sausages because those were my favorite type and I had not eaten them in a very, very long time. I could tell they thought a lot about what to bring because all of the ingredients were my favorites. I had four servings because my mom normally never lets me eat mac and cheese (it is too unhealthy).

Finally, in the morning, I experienced the strangest breakfast in the world, but still enjoyed it! I wolfed down a nutella (chocolate sauce), peanut butter, strawberry jam, apple, and banana sandwich. It was so big It did not fit in my mouth! It also left me with sticky chocolate and peanut butter smudged all over my face( ewww!) For a side dish, I devoured ten peanut butter covered apples. The peanut butter was the perfect garnish because I love peanut butter on almost anything. Also, Nutella is melted chocolate, my favorite candy!

Everything I ate when I was camping was extremely unhealthy, but who cares, that’s camping!!! If you ever go camping, write a post about what you ate. I need ideas about what to eat on my next camping trip!!! Also, I want to give a shout out to my Uncle Randy Ching and Aunty Lena Ching because they made all these good meals for me when I went camping.

Camping is so fun! My family just went too but couldn’t take me. My Dad made everyone put entire cans of chili in the fire and eat out of them. He said that’s what he did as a kid. We thought it was cruel but it was kinda good. No prep and no cleaning. But I think I’d like to go with you guys next time.

What about s’mores, that’s the best part!
