Do you know what this week is? Ski Week !!! My family, a lot of friends, and I recently (around two and a half days ago) traveled to Park City for some skiing and of course, lots of games and snowball fights.
When skiing, it’s very important to eat meals, especially lunch if you plan to ski in the afternoon. If you don’t, well, too bad for you! Skiing is a very tiring activity (I had to turn about 500 times on one of the blue runs at Park City), so always bring something to eat.
The best meals to pack are the simplest. For example, a turkey and bread sandwich (I gobbled this sandwich up on this trip). A sandwich with only two ingredients, that’s pretty simple to me! Why? Well it of takes all the fun out if you have to take off your skis just to eat your giant gourmet sandwich. Even small snacks such as KIND Bars are good because you can eat them while sitting on a lift or even when skiing! At Whole Foods in Park City, we bought some very delicious handmade rolls. Those small quick bites really fueled me up.
Occasionally, you could go to a restaurant to eat lunch. One time my family and I ate at the Red Tail Grill and ended up dining for at least one and a half hours. What did I eat? The amazing cowboy burger including onion rings, barbecue sauce, bison (tastes like beef), melted cheddar cheese, and last but not least, bacon! Yummy! This is what you call a gourmet food. Up on the mountain, there are other places to eat, but they just serve gourmet foods and make you wait a ton to sit down.
In the end, it all comes down to your preference. Fancy food and less skiing time………or…………quick bites (somewhat good food) and tons of skiing time. I would prefer the latter, but I’m interested in finding out your opinion for this question!
So now I know who ate my turkey sandwiches all week… I really liked the way you said, “gobbled” when referring to your “turkey” sandwich.
