Delicious Dip!

Did you know that the Super Bowl is the most popular day for ordering pizza? Or that roughly 28,000,000 pounds (13,000,000 kg) of chips, 1.25 billion chicken wings, and 8,000,000 pounds(3,600,000 kg) of guacamole are consumed during this event? That’s pretty crazy, considering that only a small part of the world’s population even watches the Super Bowl.

While there are many famous activities like Squares that are played on Super Bowl Sunday, this delightful event is not what it is without the food…..

One of the main Super Bowl dishes is plain crunchy chips. The thing is though, chips taste 5x better when dipped into something (salsa, guacamole, etc). While I like many of these dips, I can rarely eat them all at once which is a dream come true. Luckily, on Super Bowl Sunday, there is for sure the legendary 7 layered dip.

First of all, the 7 Layered Dip is very open ended. You can substitute anything with anything. The most important part is that you get that multi-flavor taste in your mouth. My mom actually only did 6 layers, but no matter how many layers a 7 Layered Dip contains, its still yummy. The components she included were olives, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole. sour cream with taco seasoning, and bean paste. The dimensions were 2 and a half foot circumference with the height being 8 inches.

Because the events of the Super Bowl are still in my head, I want to ask: What is your most craved Super Bowl Snack? Go Patriots!

Below you can see my mom’s 7 Layered Dip:

That looks delicious, Nate!!!! Given the results of the game, I’m sure you had a great time last Sunday! I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more exciting game. As for other snack ideas, I love BBQ chicken wings, mixed nuts, and veggies and hummus.

My favorite super bowl “snack” is the Buffalo Wing. This year was the first year in a long time that I didn’t have any Buffalo Wings on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s probably a good thing too, as I would have hated to throw them back up after that nauseating Pats victory….
