Triple B for the Dub

on

I know burgers are good, but have you ever thought of substituting that tasty patty for a handmade veggie burger? I didn’t like the idea myself in the beginning, but I soon changed my mind when I bit into a wonderful black bean onion burger. Let me tell you, it tastes like healthy mashed potatoes with a tweak of onion here and there. Perfect!

My mom came up with the idea of going meatless for one day of the week. I thought that was a good idea because it would allow me to get used to eating more veggies, something I am trying to do already. As you can see in the picture, the black bean burgers have the same smell, looks, size, and texture of a regular burger. At first, the burger might taste a little bland, so a little cheese, avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce are great side components. Since the taste reminded me of a burrito, I added some Mexican hot sauce to spice it up (no pun intended). Honestly, I think if you ever decide to try the black bean burger, it’s going to be one of those foods where you approach with caution, but then devour at the end!

  2. Nate, here is another recipe for a veggie burger – https://www.impossiblefoods.com/burger/. They claim that you can’t taste the difference at all – I heard it on NPR. And if you cook it rare, it will even bleed. Yuck… But pretty cool.
