Summer fruits are back! Peaches, plums, and more are starting to sell at local farmers markets all around town. 80% of my favorite fruits come from this season. I don’t know about you, but summer fruits are the best!
Delicious summer fruits include peaches, plums, nectarines, strawberries, mangoes, cherries, papayas and more. I have learned that the hotter the weather, the sweeter the fruit. The mangoes practically taste like candy. Yes candy, but definitely healthier. I even had a nectarine for dessert! Eating one of these will easily satisfy your hunger. Our family loves shop at the Sunday Farmer’s Market on Castro Street in Mountain View. They have a great selection with samples. that will make your taste buds explode. The fruits might be a bit pricey, but after you take a bite, you’ll realize they’re worth it!!
Another fun family activity to enjoy is fruit picking at nearby farms. One year, we picked peaches and blackberries and used them to bakeĀ delicious cobblers. Try the fruits out and tell me which one is your favorite!

Nate Buckley Farm in Gilroy just opened for cherry picking, which is super fun and yummy. They’re open for a couple of weekends only every year so go check it out. And if you, bring me a pound of bing cherries for this very useful tip!!
